REGIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM - SOFIA presents the temporary exhibition "Literature and Memory" which is a author event of the National Museum of Literature. It can be seen between 9 November - December 4, 2016.
In 2016, the National Museum of Literature (NLM) is celebrating 40 years since its founding. In honor of its anniversary the team from NLM realized the exhibition "Literature and Memory". In the temporary exhibition, which is located in a hall of the Regional History Museum - Sofia (Square "Banski" 1) can be seen manuscripts and personal belongings of many prominent Bulgarian poets and writers.
The visitors will have the chance to see things and learn interesting details for: Ivan Vazov, Pencho Slaveykov, Peyo Yavorov, Hristo Smirnenski, Nikola Vaptsarov, Elin Pelin, Emilian Stanev, Dimitar Dimov, Vladimir Bashev and others.
For an example: sterling silver - the gift of Ivan Vazov on his first anniversary in 1895 .; inkwell Aleko Konstantinov and his testimony for certificate of legal capacity ; cup with which all Petko`s Rachev Slaveiykov children were baptized and his quill, typewriter "Adler" of his son Pencho Slaveykov, also the manuscripts and correspondence between Pencho Slaveikov and Mara Belcheva.
As a part of the exhibition is a reconstruction of the cabinet of Peyo Yavorov with his personal belongings and manuscripts: His Georgia dagger, a gift from Gotse Delchev, the portfolio of the poet with a photo of Lora, the gun with he shoоt Lora Karavelova and the gun from his suicide .
This is a small part of those exposed belongings of Bulgarian poets and writers. You will be able to see much more at place in the Regional History Museum - Sofia (Square "Banski" 1)
The official opening of the exhibition is on November 8, 2016 (Tuesday) at 17:30 pm in the building of the Regional History Museum - Sofia. The temporary exhibition "Literature and Memory" is on the second floor and can be viewed until December 4, 2016
