"Open lessons" for the Day of the Enlighteners

National Leaders Day is celebrated every year on November 1. The celebration began to be celebrated in 1922 on a proposal by Stoyan Omarchevski. After a break the celebration was renewed in 1992 on the initiative of Petar Konstantinov.

In 2015 are marked 165 years since the birth of the bulgarian writer and poet Ivan Vazov. He is among the most vivid images left in Bulgarian history fighting for the establishment of the Bulgarian. In his honor and on the Day of National Leaders The Sofia History Museum organizes "Vazov`s readings” at the Museum.

Part of this initiative is organized by The Sofia History Museum "open lessons" for students. They have a duration of one clock hour with emphasis of certain halls of the permanent exhibition. During the guided tour, children learn interesting details about Bulgarian holiday.

The second module of “open lesson" consists of a presentation dedicated to the educated persons among which the main burden falls on Ivan Vazov. Consolidation of learning is complemented by a practical game.

"Open lessons" will be held in the period 27 October to 6 November 2015 The participation of school classes in the initiative is through advance registration by phone: 02 985 44 55, The Sofia History Museum. The fee is 2 lv. for a student plus the cost of the lecture 20 lv. for the whole group.
